Our client, a leading biotech company based in Boston, is seeking a talented and experienced Principal Scientist to join their team. This role offers a unique hybrid work arrangement, with approximately 3 days per week in-office. As a Principal Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in the discovery and development of innovative treatments, utilizing advanced platforms and methodologies.
Responsibilities:
Establish & optimize advanced in vitro and in vivo pharmacology models and assays.
Identify & collaborate with external partners for preclinical pharmacology studies.
Lead the design, execution, and analysis of in vitro and in vivo nonclinical pharmacology studies.
Manage and oversee nonclinical development studies to support development programs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and interpret pharmacology and efficacy studies.
Provide guidance and mentorship to scientific team members.
Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Foster a collaborative and innovative research culture focused on scientific excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, pharmacology, or related field.
Minimum of 5+ years of industry experience in preclinical drug discovery and development.
Proven expertise in developing and utilizing in vitro and in vivo preclinical disease models.
Proficiency in molecular and cellular biology techniques, including method development and optimization, biomolecule analysis, and gene expression analysis.
Strong track record of managing studies with external partners.
Demonstrated expertise in a specialized area related to the role.
Familiarity with advanced drug delivery systems is a plus.
Ability to work independently, think strategically, and drive scientific innovation.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and industry standards.
Experience working in a dynamic and collaborative research environment is desirable.
