We are partnering with an industry leading gene editing biotech company whose mission is to curate therapies for patients with devastating genetic diseases. Its vision is to pave the way to a faster, safer, gene editing therapeutics that can cure diseases and improve the quality of patient lives.
The Opportunity:
This role is seeking a contract researcher who has proficient experience in protein science to assist existing therapeutic programs and to enhance technology discovery platforms. We are looking for dedicated, curious, self motivated individual to join this team!
Your responsibilities will include:
Perform AA/Protein production and purification procedures of RNA guided nucleases
Calibrate and improve protein production & purification procedures of new fusion proteins based on RNA guided nucleases
Collaborate and work with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team to identify and coordinate new genome editing techniques
Critique and analyze experimental results and effectively communicate findings to research team.
Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
BA/BS-MS in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, and Chemistry
Previous experience with protein production and purification as well as developing or troubleshooting protein solubility and purification procedures
Conducted enzymatic/kinetic assays. Protein-protein/protein-substrate interaction is highly preferred
Experience with HPLC, and analytical techniques such as UV-Vis, SDS-PAGE as well as DNA and protein sequence analysis
Working knowledge of AKTA FPLC systems and Unicorn software is highly sought after
