SciPro has teamed up with a premier clinical stage Biotechnology client to add a Bioinformatics Scientist to their Translational Bioinformatics group. In this group, you would responsible for advancing drug pipelines with use of cutting-edge bioinformatic and computational approaches.
Primary Responsibilities for Bioinformatics Scientist:
Designs and develops robust data analysis pipelines and software tools to support target discovery.
Contributes to the development of software infrastructure and visualization tools on Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Analyzes and integrates heterogeneous low throughput datasets with high throughput NGS datasets such as RNA-seq, Whole Genome and Single cell datasets.
Interrogates public databases such as TCGA, CCLE, GTex to infer data for biomarker discovery.
Works closely with translational and research teams in analyzing novel cell therapy datasets.
Education / Background for Bioinformatics Scientist:
PhD or master’s in computer science, mathematics, computational biology, physics or related quantitative fields.
2+ years of experience in bioinformatics software development using Python, and proficiency in working in a Unix environment.
Experience working with cloud computing infrastructures especially on AWS.
Hands on experience working with large-scale NGS dataset from DNA and RNASeq.
General understanding of genetics and sequencing.
Experience analyzing single cell multi-omics datasets.
Experience using Machine learning methods to interrogate large datasets.
Expertise in R/Bioconductor and familiarity with scripting languages.
Developing code using distributed version control tools.
