​Primary Duties:

The Facilities Lead provides a wide range of facility management and support services in accordance with the company's business need and mission. This individual manages the maintenance of building infrastructure and its assets that include utilities, systems, and equipment associated with Research, Process Development, Laboratory Operations, and their supportive departments.

Responsible for scheduled Preventive Maintenance activities and Troubleshooting/Mitigation actions that involve planning, budgeting, scheduling and coordination of the internal resources and external vendors.

Manages the Building Automation System/ Building Management System (BAS/BMS), Utilities (HVAC, Water Systems, Gas Systems, etc.), Environmental Monitoring System (EMS) if applicable, ProCal Work Order System, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) that may include Spart Part Inventory and other sub-systems that support the facility’s integrity, functionality, and appearance.

May have responsibility in establishing and / or overseeing Health and Safety standards and fostering Process Improvements that include, but not limited to the systems reliability enhancements and the reduction of downtime of operations.

Assists in the company's facilities network expansion projects that may include coordination of the building space allocation, review of layout design, installation of the assets (systems/utilities/equipment and instruments) and support of qualification/commissioning activities.

Responsible for Quality Systems associated with the facility that may include, but not limited to Quality Investigations (DI), Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions (CAPA), Change Controls, etc., if applicable.

Selects, hires, manages and develops the Facility personnel to ensure the efficient operations of the facility and its assets.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and oversee site preventative maintenance program; maintains equipment history files.

  • Coordinates calibration requirements of critical utility systems, process and analytical equipment; manages site calibration program for cGMP equipment and instrumentation.

  • Coordinate spare parts inventory for utilities and process equipment.

  • Oversees activities related to the procurement of materials, parts and scientific equipment

  • Coordinate/implement equipment installation, facility construction/renovation, and facility and equipment repairs.

  • Solicit bids, prepare cost estimates, and manage all building maintenance contracts. Assess cost and get prior approval for new projects.

  • Oversee contractors for all building maintenance and repair and manage vendor operations including security, maintenance, sprinkler, fire extinguisher, lighting, plumbing, recycling, etc., for building including corporate office, laboratories, manufacturing and warehouse.

  • Coordinate, maintain contracts and supervise the housekeeping and cleaning activities in general office areas, labs, warehouse and critical manufacturing space in accordance with SOPs.

  • Perform facilities operating expense tracking and project accounting, tracking of invoices, report writing, etc.

  • Responsible for maintaining regulatory compliance relative to pest control, critical utilities, environmental controls and building.

  • Pest management, responsible for maintenance of insect and rodent control program, contract with outside service providers, training of staff on awareness of control program and maintaining up-to-date requirements in regards to best practices in pest management procedures.

  • Resolves trouble calls related to facility.

  • Manages the development, planning and implementation of environmental, industrial, health and safety programs within the company; develops health and safety policies and procedures, including those pertaining to hazardous materials and work areas; manages MSDS program.

  • Act as Fire Warden and emergency services contact; assists safety management activities

Education and Experience Requirements

·         Bachelor’s degree

·         Minimum six (6) years of related experience working in building maintenance including two (2) years supervisory experience

·         Must have experience in cGMP environment

·         Knowledge of facilities, scientific/administrative programs, operations of building utilities and technical operationsMust have a clear understanding of cGMP related to maintenance and operations of critical utilities, process and analytical equipment.
