SciPro has been retained by an innovative small-molecule drug-discovery based biotech company located in Cambridge, MA. They utilize their unique platform to develop drugs to treat a wide range of targets & disease. This team of almost 100 employees are renowned as being some of the most innovative minds in the industry – garnering over 20,000 citations to date.

My clients are looking for a Scientist (Sr./Principal) to come in and lead a team of biologists in their efforts to determine small-molecular effects on therapeutic targets. With a primary focus on oncology and inflammation, you will be expected to not only be able to evidence your strong technical skills in the lab, but to also exhibit mentorship skills, as you will likely progress into a leadership role with which there will be associated management responsibilities.

In this role, you will be expected to do some of the following:

  • Provide scientific leadership to the team as well as manage & mentor more junior team members.

  • Perform cellular assays to measure drug activity and mechanism.

  • Create and lead execution of goals & timelines for projects.

  • Manage interactions with CROs and act as the disease biology expert for multiple cross-functional teams.

In order to qualify for this role, you should possess the following:

  • PhD in cellular biology, molecular biology, pharmacology, or related field.

  • Postdoctoral training and 5+ years of drug discovery experience in industry.

  • Knowledge of cellular pathways influencing tumor growth or inflammatory response.

  • Experience and knowledge of Molecular Biology laboratory techniques, such as: western blotting, immunofluorescence, FACS, qPCR, ELISA, tissue culture, gene expression, generation of engineered cell lines, and liquid handling automation.

  • Proven record of innovative thinking through publications.
