​SciPro is working with a life science consultancy who specializing in data analytic solutions and custom research services.  They are looking for a Principal Research Scientist to join their Modeling & Strategy consulting team. This position can be in our Boston office or remote in the US within the eastern time zone.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Project & team management

·         Scientifically responsible for the design and development of various HEOR projects

·         Collaborate with, and mentor, junior research staff on project deliverables

·         Ensure timely completion of project tasks and client deliverables

·         Provide feedback to management regarding junior team members’ performance

Programming & technical responsibilities

·         Implement programming of high complexity models, using various modeling applications (Microsoft Excel, Visual Basic for Applications [VBA], R, TreeAge)

·         Conduct quality control checks on model calculations

·         Identify issues with model programming and recommend solutions

·         Review and finalize project deliverables and ensure study findings are valid and reliable

·         Develop and/or refine model programming standards as well as training materials

·         Conduct data analytics in support of economic models

·         Serve as in-house expert on advanced analytic methods, with a keen eye on advancing methods proposed and used in studies

Writing activities

·         Draft design considerations reports, research plans/protocols, statistical analysis plans, abstracts, and posters

·         Lead manuscript development

Client interaction

·         Lead in-person and telephonic interactions with clients, including presentations on all client deliverables

·         Develop and maintain client relationships

Business development

·         Identify leads for follow-on or new work with existing clients and new accounts

·         Oversee the proposal drafting process, including the methodological design and approach

·         Determine final budget for design and analytic tasks within proposals

REQUIREMENTS:

·         Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as economics, mathematics, statistics, programming or related subject

·         Master’s degree with 10+ years’ previous related HEOR experience, or PhD with 3+ years’ experience

·         Knowledge of HEOR concepts, including economic modeling techniques and data analytics

·         Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VBA) and R

·         Command of Microsoft Office and other software languages (e.g., TreeAge)

·         Demonstrated analytical, organizational, and creative problem-solving skills

·         Established skills communicating with, and presenting to, clients and managing client relationships

·         Strong writing skills
