An Oxford-based biotech start-up focused on fatty liver disease is looking for a key team member to joint and form their computational biology team.
This is role will be perfect for an experienced leader who is not afraid of a busy start-up environment.
About the role:
Your role will develop/conceive and manage company's 'deep phenotyping' projects at the target discovery, target development, and lead optimisation stages.
In addition to the 'deep phenotyping' data, there is a significant amount of lab data, with the team scaling up throughput and complexity of assays.
While we don't expect this role to be at the coalface of all lab data, this role will provide advice to the scientists on experimental design, data hygiene, and good data communication.
This role will provide direct management and leadership to several computationalists in 2021, while providing advice and mentorship on data to all company scientists, and have the mandate to contract out projects to external computational biologists, to ensure that they meet their deadlines.
To better integrate the many anticipated projects next year, we will complete our software platform that will store gene signatures and allow the write-up of interactive reports. This role will take over direct responsibility for this platform and our data platform maturation beyond series A.
