​An innovative biotech in the Boston area is hiring for an Associate Director, Project Management. This company is focused on targeting severe diseases using RNA-based medicines. This company is using their proprietary technology to target CNS diseases and are expanding to new therapeutic areas with new programs in their pipeline, requiring them to hire within their Project Management team.


As Associate Director, Project Management, you will be coming in and owning a program that is in early development and seeing it through IND-enabling into Phase I and II studies. You will be the liaison between various internal groups maintaining timelines and coordinating scientific decisions. This position offers high visibility throughout the company and great opportunities for growth!

Day-to-Day

  • Partner with various team leads and lead a cross-functional matrix team in advancing drug development programs across the stages of drug discovery

  • Be able to lead operational strategy, management of timelines, quality, and risk assessment and mitigation.

  • Ensures all decisions are assessed as to their risks and impacts. Accountable for communication to team and stakeholders in a transparent and timely manner

  • Work independently as a liaison between manufacturing, toxicology, bringing review groups all together in a succinct effective manner

  • Work across internal groups and external collaborations ensuring partnerships are executed in accordance with contracts

Main Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a scientific discipline

  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries

  • Minimum of 3 years of early phase drug development expertise with solid understanding of the drug development pathway

  • Ability to lead matrix teams

  • Experience with project management tools (Microsoft Project, etc)

  • Strong communication skills. Be able to effectively summarize the various parts of a project and effectively tailor messages to audience including senior leadership and project teams
