Biophysical Chemistry Scientist
(6 month contract, on-site South SF)

As the Biophysical Chemistry Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in performing biophysical and chemical analysis of AA, proteins and protein/protein interactions within the Protein Science & Engineering - Biophysical Chemistry group. In this position you will frequently interact with the Biophysical Chemistry and Bioconjugation team leaders as well as other scientists in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. You will be responsible for maintaining lab equipment/instruments, ordering and preparing chemical reagents, and conduct screening and characterization of antibodies and antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) candidate molecules using various biophysical platforms.
Utilize surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and Biolayer Interferometry (BLI) to characterize the kinetics and affinity of antibody/antigen interactions
Optimizing SPR and/or BLI for epitope binning and receptor/ligand blocking studies
Distinguishing protein stability, purity and quality using a variety of techniques, such as dynamic light scattering (DLS), static light scattering (SLS), capillary isoelectric focusing (cIEF), size exclusion chromatography (SEC), ion exchange chromatography (IEX), CE-SDS, and SDS-PAGE.
Document experiments and results in ELN entries
BS or MS in Biophysics, biochemistry or related fields, plus 0-3+ years relevant work experience. Level commensurate with education and experience.
Superb communication and interpersonal skills with ability to interact well with researchers, scientists, contractors, investors, and staff at all levels.
High levels of organization and attention to detail with outstanding analytical, documentation, and multi-tasking skills.
Experience with therapeutic antibodies, antibody conjugates, bi and multi-specific molecules, and other modalities is highly preferred
