Global Project Manager - San Francisco - Drug Development cycle
Global Project Manager (GPM) will manage My clients EPD and NPD projects to ensure timely planning and execution of projects liaising closely with all functional leads in R&D, Commercial, Medical, Supply, Quality and Global Therapy Leaders.
The GPM will also implement Project Management best practices and mentor and train Global Project Managers. GPM will be an experienced negotiator who can confidently manage the projects across Functions, and Regions and translate this into actions that are aligned with Portfolio and corporate objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to, the following:
Lead and manage assigned projects collaborating with R&D, Medical, Commercial, Supply, Quality and Global Therapy Leaders through structured project team meetings
Create and manage timelines, risks, project budgets and scenario analysis to support and impact decision making
Monitor the progress of the project and resolve issues and constraints and escalate any risks to management in a timely manner
Lead stage gate reviews and overall decision making for the assigned project; ensures project activities are reported accurately and in a timely manner to the senior leadership
Coach project teams through demonstrating in depth knowledge of drug development, excellent interpersonal communication skills, leadership skills, self-confidence, and influencing skills; has the presence to manage through a crisis
Develops strong working relationships with functional leads and Global Therapy Leaders of the organization
Serve as the liaison between the project teams and Portfolio Review Committee
Develops and implements Project Management best practices to support growth and productivity
Actively promote the project management processes to the project team and key stakeholders
Liaise, and act as primary point of contact, with 3rd party development partners when needed
Mentors the Global Project Managers;manage Project Managers as required
Experience:
A minimum of 5 years' experience within a global Pharmaceutical/Life science organization with excellent knowledge of the drug discovery and development process from pre-clinical to Phase IV as well as Life Cycle Management of Pharmaceutical products; a minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience in a global organization.
