Our client, a leading biotech company based in Boston, is seeking a talented and experienced Principal Scientist to join their team. This role offers a unique hybrid work arrangement, with approximately 3 days per week in-office. As a Principal Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in the discovery and development of innovative treatments, utilizing advanced platforms and methodologies.


  • Establish & optimize advanced in vitro and in vivo pharmacology models and assays.

  • Identify & collaborate with external partners for preclinical pharmacology studies.

  • Lead the design, execution, and analysis of in vitro and in vivo nonclinical pharmacology studies.

  • Manage and oversee nonclinical development studies to support development programs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and interpret pharmacology and efficacy studies.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to scientific team members.

  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative research culture focused on scientific excellence.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, pharmacology, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of industry experience in preclinical drug discovery and development.

  • Proven expertise in developing and utilizing in vitro and in vivo preclinical disease models.

  • Proficiency in molecular and cellular biology techniques, including method development and optimization, biomolecule analysis, and gene expression analysis.

  • Strong track record of managing studies with external partners.

  • Demonstrated expertise in a specialized area related to the role.

  • Familiarity with advanced drug delivery systems is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently, think strategically, and drive scientific innovation.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Familiarity with regulatory guidelines and industry standards.

  • Experience working in a dynamic and collaborative research environment is desirable.
